President Blaine Brownell will leave Ball State University at the end of January.
Brownell said he will be leaving the university to take advantage of an opportunity to work as the CEO of a group of international universities. His last day will be January 31.
The announcement was made at an 11 a.m. press conference at the Alumni Center.
The Board of Trustees will form a search committee to find a new president. It plans on replacing Brownell with an interim president in February until a permanent replacement is found.
