The award-winning poem "Tackle Box" by Patti White will debut asa short film by Matthew Mebane today at the Minnetrista andVirginia B. Ball Center for Creative Inquiry.
The public screening of the film and a reading of the poem byWhite will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Minnetrista. Areception will be held following the presentation and will lastuntil 6 p.m.
This is Mebane's first directorial work. He will be on handthroughout the evening to speak on the 12-minute silent film.
Mebane works on feature films and major commercials in thecamera department.
White is an English professor and chairwoman of the Departmentof English at Ball State.
White's "Tackle Box" collection won her the Anhinga Prize forPoetry in 2001.
