Christina Aguilera is one of today's most talked about pop icons, and
it's not necessarily all good talk.
From her first hit single "Genie in a Bottle" to her latest "Can't Hold Us Down" with Lil Kim, Aguilera has shown the world how differently one person can be portrayed. She transformed from a seemingly angelic teenager to a raunchy, almost vulgar, 21-year old.
In the process, she has lost some fans and gained some new ones.
Despite her ever-changing hair color and increased number of
piercings, she has remained consistent in her main principle of "staying real."
On her current tour with Justin Timberlake, she is trying to show fans how she really is on the inside and not how her previous record label wanted her to be portrayed.-á
She has gained weight lately (rumored to be because she started
taking the birth control pill) and has received some strong criticism for it. Local radio stations, such as 93.1, have featured her tour pictures on their Web sites, calling her "Christina Flabulera" and other insulting names.
Her mom has told the media that Christina has had a break from all of her touring and promotional events and is relaxing. Many fans appreciate her new, healthier look, which is clearing up rumors of anorexia and bulimia.
Fans of Aguilera can catch her live in concert with Justin Timberlake and special guests The Blackeyed Peas at 7:30 p.m. Suday at the Conseco Fieldhouse. This concert was previously scheduled for August 21, but was rescheduled because of stage damage.
