English and elementary education departments have developed a new course designed to improve the teaching of writing and reading skills.
The course will offercollage of children's literature and language arts.
"We wanted to integrate the best teaching practices with quality children's literature," said associate professor of elementary education and co-creator of the new course Diane Bottomley.
The semester course will place students in one of the university's professional development schools, St. Mary's Catholic School in Muncie.
