Cook, Cross named academic scholars

Ball State's men's golf team had two players named Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars. Senior Kenny Cook and junior Justin Cross were the only golfers from the Mid-American Conference given the honor.

Cook, a four-letter winner, was named an All-American Scholar for the second straight year. During his career at Ball State, Cook has been a two-time MAC All-Conference selection, being on the first team for the 2002-2003 season. He was also named to the Academic All-MAC First Team.

He earned five top-10 finishes for Ball State last season, including first place at the Bullock Collegiate Classic. He led Ball State with a 73.15 average. As an accounting major, Cook managed a 3.29 grade point average.

Cross, winner of two letters, was also an Academic All-MAC First Team. Cross was Ball State's second-highest finisher in five events. He held a 76.00 average and had a career-low round of 70 a the Northern Intercollegiate in the fall. As a finance major, Cross held a 3.35 GPA.

The Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars are named by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
