The women's track team dominated the running events and took 10 first-place finishes overall in the Ball State Relays over the weekend.
The Cards' opponent, Miami of Ohio, had six first-place finishes, while Tri-State had none.
Senior Katie Nowak was able to capture first-place finishes in both the 800-meter dash and 1500-meter run.
The rest of the team helped fill out the remaining sprinting events with first- and second-place finishes in the 100-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter dashes.
Senior Angka Morris was the winner of the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.39 seconds, while junior Jennifer Dennie came first in the 200-meter dash at 25.59 seconds.
Ball State also had solid finishes by its distance team, placing first and second in the 3,000-meter run. Junior Crystal Meeks had a winning time of 10:28, followed by sophomore Sarah Huddleston at 10:36.30.
Assisting the Cardinals in the field events was freshman hammer-thrower Julia Kidd, who had a winning throw of 44.27 meters. Kidd and junior Cheryl Beth, with second place in the discus, were the only athletes from Ball State to finish in the top two in any throwing event.
