Dear Editor,
Let's be honest. President Bush's administration has been a series of picking fights since the beginning. First it was Europe, arguing over "Star Wars" defense missiles, then the attitude with Afghanistan: Can't find the terrorists, bomb them all.
Then Iraq for, should I say -- ulterior motives? Don't forget the fights he's trying to pick with us.
Remember the Patriot Act, which allows the government to get right back to the good old days of phone tapping, spying on mail (and e-mail) and arresting and inspecting groups of Americans en masse.
So I think it's funny when Maxim calls him the "Commando-in-Chief," Germany's parliament has to hush and chastise one of its own for calling Bush a new Hitler, and as Glenn Branca (who inspired Sonic Youth) says in Skyscraper magazine, he saw a sign that read "Osama is a Bush" in New York.
But the funniest thing, as seen in Thursday's Daily News, was when a kid in Michigan wore a T-shirt that read "International Terrorist" next to a picture of President Bush. School officials gave him the choice of taking it off or going home.
Reason: The shirt might offend "Arab American" students, as if it's saying, "Hey, wait a sec! We're international terrorists! We don't claim him!"
