Officials from Housing and Residence Life are investigating cases of

vandalism that occurred over the weekend in the Studebaker West complex.

Housing staff would not allow NewsCenter to videotape inside the

building today, and officials refused to confirm that the vandalism even

occurred.

But in an e-mail sent to residents this afternoon, Hall Director Amy

VanderSanden said the acts took place on the seventh and ninth floors.

The e-mail reads, "The cost to repair the vending machine and to

replace the stolen items is estimated to be hundreds of dollars."

Hall officials are holding an open forum tonight at nine-thirty on the

seventh floor to discuss the matter
