Dear editor:
This letter is being written to inform Ball State students, faculty, and staff who own pets, of the opportunity to get discount spay/neuter certificates. The certificates are available through Action for Animals, a local volunteer animal welfare group, which helps abandoned and stray animals.
The overpopulation of companion animals is a huge problem in Muncie, as well as in the entire United States. Millions of unwanted pets are euthanized every year. Spaying and neutering have proven to drastically reduce euthanasia rates as well as making pets healthier. If you have not had your pet spayed or neutered, please take advantage of this offer.
The discount certificates (which are good at all local veterinarian offices) are available at the following locations: Animal Medical Center, 6501 W. Kilgore Ave; Boyce Animal Hospital, 1505 Riggin Rd.; Care Animal Hospital 3601 Nebo Rd.; Danner's Books, 827 S. Tillotson Ave.; Kennedy Library,1700 W. McGalliard; Muncie Children's Museum, 515 High St.
Certificates will be available while supplies last.
