The Ball State athletic department took a step in the right direction to increase the exposure of Ball State basketball. The arena ticket office is now setting up a booth in the Atrium of the Art and Journalism Building for students to pick up home basketball tickets.
Student fans are one of the most crucial parts of the college basketball experience. Students are loud, supportive and often obnoxious for the other team aspect that can make Worthen Arena the toughest playing environment in the Mid-American Conference.
Student turnout for the first two home games have been impressive. Last Friday's home opener drew 2,500 students. Placing a booth in the center of campus will make obtaining the tickets much easier.
The Arena Ticket Office is located on the lower level of Worthen Arena. It is very accessible for people wanting to drive up and by tickets, but most students walk over to the arena and that for many is out of the way.
Ball State basketball is quickly becoming the hottest ticket in town and having a booth in the Atrium makes it so the high student attendance can continue.
