The Ball State women's volleball team posted a 30-17, 30-28, 30-20 victory over host IPFW Thursday night.
Senior Julie Meshberger and junior Katie Butts led the team with both of them registering 14 kills with a .367 hitting percentage. Senior Megan Hammons had 13 kills to extend her MAC career kills record to 1,725.
Meshberger hit back-to-back kills in game two to break a 27-27 tie en route to winning the game.
Hammons aslo had a game-high 14 digs and Katie Butts had 11 digs to anchor the Cardinals' defense.
Ball State out-hit IPFW with a .355 hitting percentage to IPFW's .188 for the match.
The Cardinals (17-7 overall, 12-3 Mid-American Conference) faces MAC rival Toledo tonight at 6:30 in Toledo.
"It's a win on the road and that's something we have been looking for," head coach Randy Litchfield said. "IPFW is a good program and this was a competitive match tonight. Hopefully, this will provide us with some momentum for our final three league matches on the road. It's that time of year where every match is a big one."
