Ball State University Police officers responded to a residence hall early Thursday morning and found a man who is banned from the university.
Jake Kline, 22, who was banned in Dec. of 2015 from all university property, was arrested by UPD around 2:15 a.m. Thursday.
UPD Chief Jim Duckham said Kline was arrested in the lobby of Johnson A and preliminary charged with criminal trespass.
According to Ball State's website, "Indiana law authorizes Ball State University to issue trespass notices to individuals in violation of the law and/or campus rules and regulations," and violation may result in arrest or criminal prosecution.
University spokesperson Marc Ransford said Kline is not a student and the reason for trespass could not be released.
Kline was released from jail on a $1,000 bond.
