While meeting alumni in Washington D.C., Ball State President Geoffrey Mearns met with Vice President Mike Pence.
According to The Star Press, Mearns was meeting with some Ball State alumni who were also on Pence's staff Monday afternoon.
In the 10-minute meeting, Pence, the former Indiana governor, welcomed Mearns to Indiana.
Tweets were sent out both from both parties Twitter accounts. In Pence's tweet, he wished the 17th President the "best of luck at BSU!"

In response to the tweet, Mearns responded with a thanks "for the support and encouragement."
Later today, Mearns meets with other Ball State alumni with his wife Jennifer Mearns at a Ball State University Alumni Association hosted event at the Capitol Hill Club.
